The HI-LOAD principle

HI-LOAD hinges are unique in their construction and performance.

The hinges are designed for longevity and as a ‘fit and forget’ solution because they do not wear, will not fail and require no maintenance. In the UK, HI-LOAD hinges are offered with a 25 year performance guarantee.

HI-LOAD hinges are manufactured from carbon steel or stainless steel. Metal to metal movement is avoided by using carbon steel and porous bronze flanged bushes impregnated with a specially formulated lubricant. This construction eliminates the wear and regular maintenance required by other types of hinge.

HI-LOAD hinge manufacture also takes account of innovations in fixing technology. Ideal drilling positioning and better fixings help to spread the load on timber door frames and stiles. With HI-LOAD hinges, compared with other hinges, savings of up to 2.5 seconds per hole during fixing have been achieved - on large contracts this can save many days of labour.

HI-LOAD hinges are tested with the fixings supplied. Any substitution of these fixings may affect final performance. Most are suitable for fire doors, are Certifire approved, CE marked and conform to BS EN 1935.
