A threshold plate is a strip fastened to the floor beneath a door e.g. to cover the joint of two types of floor materials where they meet. Some threshold plates can also be used back-to-back to provide a two-way ramp over, for example, a shopfront.
Under the requirements of Approved Document M external and internal thresholds should be no higher than 15mm and incorporate chamfered or pencil rounder corners. Vertical elevations should be no greater than 5mm.
Raven seals suitable for applications under approved Document M are shown with the wheelchair symbol.
